Terms of use
These terms explain the agreement between you and OurPantry while you take part in the closed beta.
Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Tioluwani Kolawole, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, trading as OurPantry. In these terms, “OurPantry”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Tioluwani Kolawole trading asOurPantry.
By creating an account or using OurPantry, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the beta is
OurPantry is an invitation-only iPhone beta for household grocery planning. It helps two people share a shopping list, remember regular products, record completed shops, and optionally keep spending context.
Because this is a beta:
- features may change, be added, or be removed;
- the service may sometimes be unavailable or contain faults;
- suggestions and receipt-detected totals may be inaccurate; and
- the beta may end. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice and a chance to record information you want to keep.
The beta is currently free of charge. There is no subscription or purchase within this version of the app.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old, have an invitation, and use an Apple or Google account to sign in. You confirm that information you provide is accurate and that you are allowed to use the sign-in account.
You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple or Google account and device secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your OurPantry account without permission.
Sharing a household
A household in this beta holds two people. Both members can see and change its lists, items, tracked products, shopping history, receipts, budget, and notes. Anyone with the invite code can attempt to join, so share it only with the person you intend to invite.
Each member is responsible for the content they add and for using shared information respectfully. If you delete your account while another member remains, the shared household history stays available to them and your past activity is attributed to “Former household member”.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use OurPantry for anything unlawful or to harass another person;
- upload content you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or malicious;
- try to bypass security, access another household without permission, introduce malware, scrape the service, or deliberately overload it;
- reverse engineer the app except to the limited extent the law expressly allows; or
- sell, rent, or redistribute access to the beta.
We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other people, investigate misuse, comply with law, or respond to a serious breach of these terms. Where it is appropriate and safe, we will explain what happened.
Your content
You keep ownership of the lists, notes, product information, and receipt photos you add. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, copy, process, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve OurPantry for you and the other member of your household. This includes sending a receipt image for text detection when you choose that feature.
This permission lasts while the content is stored in the service and ends when it is deleted, except for temporary backup copies and any information we must retain by law. We do not use your household content for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Estimates and spending information
OurPantry describes a shopping rhythm; it does not know what is in your home. A restock suggestion means a product may be due based on the cadence and purchase dates recorded, not that it has definitely run out.
Totals, budgets, and spending history come from information you enter or text detected from a receipt you photograph. They may be incomplete or wrong. OurPantry is a planning tool, not financial advice, and does not promise that using it will reduce your spending. Check important amounts against the original receipt or your own records.
Third-party services
OurPantry depends on third-party services for Apple or Google sign-in, hosting, receipt text detection, push notifications, and optional analytics. Their availability can affect the app. Your use of Apple, Google, and the App Store is also subject to the terms and policies of those services.
The privacy policy names the main providers and explains what information they handle.
Availability and changes
We use reasonable care to keep the beta available and protect household information, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every fault will be fixed immediately. We may update, suspend, or withdraw a feature for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons.
Keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not a storage or backup service for receipts or financial records.
Ending your account
You may stop using OurPantry at any time. You can permanently delete your account from Settings in the app. The account deletion page explains what is removed when another household member remains and when you are the last member.
We may end the beta or your access as described above. Clauses that by their nature need to continue—such as ownership, responsibility for earlier use, and governing law—continue after the account ends.
Our intellectual property
The OurPantry name, app, website, software, artwork, and design belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use the beta for private household purposes in accordance with these terms. No other rights are transferred to you.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when you began using the beta.
OurPantry is supplied for private, domestic use. We are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, or business data.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
General terms
If a court finds part of these terms unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing these terms does not waive the right to enforce them later. These terms do not give rights to anyone other than you and us.
We may transfer our rights and responsibilities to another person or organisation, for example if the product is acquired. We will tell you if that happens and ensure the transfer does not reduce your consumer rights. You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this choice does not take away any mandatory protection given to you by the law where you live.
If you live in England or Wales, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can use the Scottish courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can use the Northern Irish courts. If you live elsewhere, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts available to you under local consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect product, security, provider, or legal changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell testers about a material change before it takes effect where practical. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using OurPantry and delete your account.
